Am I still able to have the 60 days grace period if I ended up the work by myself before the last day on EAD card

I am allowed to work through 05/29/2018 to 05/28/2019.

To be my highest honest, I started work on June 8th, 2018 and ended up by April 1st, 2019. There was no vacation or gap between this period. I thought I am totally qualified to have the 60 days grace period after 05/28/2019,.

But I was told by my school advisor that "If you finished your OPT on April 1 and you will not go over 90 days of unemployment before your OPT end date, then the last day you are allowed in the US is your OPT end date, May 28, 2019. You finished working before your OPT end date, therefore, you do not have the 60 day grace period option. This option is only available if you work until the end date of your OPT"

Now I am confused about the grace period and the qualification of that. Why I have to work till the end of the date ?

You will be granted 60 days of grace period under the pretense you didn't accrue more than 90/150 days of unemployment during your 12 months of OPT or STEM OPT.
