I did a program in the US and transferred my SEVIS ID for my new program that started this fall. I left the US for renewing my F-1 visa this summer. Unfortunately, it went under an exceptionally long administrative processing and now I already deferred for a quarter. However, according to the visa advisor at my school, the SEVIS ID will expire before the new start date of my I20, so I need to redo the whole process from applying for a new SEVIS ID and scheduling a new visa interview. I'm wondering if I can actually just wait for the processing of this current application, even if the start date of the program listed on my I20 has passed, and reapply for a new sevis id and a new I20 after I get the visa so that I don't need to do the interview again.
